Pet Tag

Most of you didn't know, but I love animals! In the past when I lived in actual houses I have had many dogs and fishes (Not cats sadly). But ever since my other and I started to live in apartments, I have had 2 guinea pigs! Currently I have only one, and his name is Truffles (lol I know, such a manly name). I thought this tag would be very cute, and also another way for you guys to get to know me! :)

1) What is your pet’s name? -Truffles
2) What kind of pet is it and what breed? -From what I show he is just a regular guinea pug with short hair.
3) How long have you had your pet friend? - 2 years! :)
4) How did you get your pet? - My cousins fiance's brother originally wanted a guinea pig when he really wanted a pet rat. His mother surprised him one day with a guinea pig, and he didn't want him! So my cousin called me since she knew that I have already owned a guinea pig and I took him in! :)
5) How old is your pet? - 2 years old.
6) What are some quirky things about your pet’s personality? -lol he LOVES to eat and to nibble on things! He's very energetic and sweet too!
7) What does your relationship with your pet mean to you? - I think it shows how close we are and how much we have bonded! He is always happy when I hold him and brush him especially.
8) What are some of your favorite past times with your pet? -When he gets new toys he gets really excited and starts squeaking!
9) What are the nicknames that you call your pet? -Trufs

Softbatch Funfetti Cookies

These delicious looking cookies  are absolutely adorable with their bright colors! They look incredibly difficult beaus you have t make them from scratch but they are actually very easy! I wanted to share with all of you this amazing recipe! Maybe it would be great for a Thanksgiving treat?

For the original Recipe check it out here!

{Ingredients}

1/2 cup  of unsalted softened butter
3/4 cup of granulated sugar
1 Large egg
1 1/2 teaspoons clear imitation vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons corn starch
3/4  teaspoon of baking soda
a pinch of salt
3/4 cup of sprinkles

{Directions}

( Directions are from original website)
  1. To the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the butter, sugar, egg, extract, and beat on medium-high speed until well-creamed, light and fluffy, about 5 minutes (or use a hand mixer and beat for at least 7 minutes). Do not shortcut the creaming process; make sure dough is very light in color and fluff, stop to scrape down the sides of the mixer as necessary.
  2. Stop, scrape down the sides of the bowl, and add the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, optional salt, and mix until just combined, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the sprinkles and beat momentarily to incorporate, less than 1 minute, or fold in by hand.
  4. Using a medium 2-inch cookie scoop, form heaping two tablespoon mounds (I made 15). Place mounds on a large plate, flatten mounds slightly with your palm, cover with plasticwrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or up to 5 days, before baking. Do not bake with warm dough because cookies will spread and bake thinner and flatter.
  5. Preheat oven to 350F, line two baking sheets with Silpats, or spray with cooking spray. Place mounds on baking sheets, spaced at least 2 inches apart (I bake 8 cookies per sheet). Bake for 8 minutes, or until edges have set and tops are just beginning to set, even if undercooked, pale, and glossy in the center. These cookies should not turn golden or brown at all and should stay white. Do not bake longer than 9 minutes for soft cookies because they firm up as they cool (The cookies shown in the photos were baked with dough that had been chilled overnight, allowed to come to room temp for 15 minutes, and were baked for 8 minutes, with trays rotated at the 4-minute mark). Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before removing and transferring to a rack to finish cooling.
  6. Store cookies airtight at room temperature for up to 1 week, or in the freezer for up to 3 months. Alternatively, unbaked cookie dough can be stored airtight in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, so consider baking only as many cookies as desired and save the remaining dough to be baked in the future when desired.

What is your favorite type of cookie?

Want Wednesday

This weather has me loving so many things! I have been falling in love with to many riding boots and jackets that I must restrict myself! But of course I have to share with you you my favorites currently.

These adorable nude bow flats need to be in my closet! They are such an adorable staple, and with the bow it adds an even more classier effect. I could so see myself pairing these with dark jeans and a cute sweater and of course a staple necklace.

With the cold weather comes a lot of scarfs! Lately I have been trying to find more and more scarfs that I could wear on a daily basis and this one I could definitely  get some good use of of it!

This is probably one of the biggest essentials for any preppy person! These are warm yet insanely cute!  Plus they match anything!

Such an adorable jewelry box! I personally lack in jewelry organization so this would probably save my whole entire statement necklace situation.

The are definitely on my Christmas Wish List! They are so stunning! The color is perfect and the length of the actual boots are the perfect length!

What have you been loving?

How to be more Preoductive

I lately have beginning to think about finals and more and more about school work. And to be honest, finals are coming up VERY soon! For me they are in January and for others it's right before winter break begins! Personally I rather not procrastinate during my favorite time of the year. So here are my tricks on how to stop procrastinating and start being focused.

1.) To - Do List's

I do not understand how a someone can go with out making a to do list daily! I make them left and right from my ones for my blog to ones for my guinea pig! This is one of the most useful and effective ways to see what you need to do in a day.

Tip: Put somethings that you do already (Ex. Brushing your teeth) so then you can cross them off! ( They will for sure encourage you to do more!)

2.) Distractions
The biggest struggle. Technology in this day and age really creates a big interference on what we really should be focusing on! I would highly suggest turning off your phone and other devices and putting them at the other end of the room or in your bag.

3.) Motivation
To get through tough times, It's a necessity for me to have motivation. Everyone need that encouragement to make them feel that they can do anything (Which we can)! As for this, I created a quote wall next to my light switch in my room filled with some of my favorite sayings! It's super easy to make and will definitely help you achieve your goals.

4.) Breaks
Lol. This is the only fun part of studying. Realistically everyone should be taking a 10 - 20 minute break for every hour that you study/work. When taking your breaks trying eating a snack of read for a couple of minutes. In the photo bellow I show my water (Which you should be drinking throughout studying) and two of my favorite study snacks!

5.) The End Goal
Be positive through out this whole experience! You can do it! It you put your mind and heart to it you can achieve anything and you can get to the goal you have been dreaming of!

What are your tips on procrastination? What are your goals?

Whats on my Fall Reading List

Ahh Fall! The season of cozying up next to a warm drink and a warm blanket and reading a good book! Some of the books on my list are all autobiographies written by some of my favorite people! They go from ballet dancers to CEO's of major companies! They all sound perfect and have all gotten great reviews!

1.)  #GirlBoss

I have been hearing about such great reviews on this book over the summer, That I really need to read it! Sophia Amoruso if such an inspiration when it comes to building a business that has become one of the biggest online fashion stores!

2.) Taking Flight

Michaela De Prince has always been one of my biggest dance inspirations ever since I saw her videos of here at the Youth America Grand Prix on Youtube years ago! And then once she was on the First Position Documentary and heard her do her interview, she became a even bigger inspiration because of her background story!

3.) Make Up

I adore Michelle Phan ever since she uploaded her first Youtube video! I have been watching her for years, and she always seems to amaze with her confidence and how much she has grown as a person! From her make up line to creating Ipsy, she has become one of the biggest women entrepreneur today!

What are some of your fall reads?
