DIY: Tassel Garland

Hey Guys! So I don't know about you guys, but this year my spring break came early! ( Which I'm really happy about :) ) But this whole week I have really been thinking about what decorations I could add to my room to give it some pizzaz! It's perfect timing because i'm moving! So me and my best friend Claudia decided to do 2 DIY's! One of them is a tassel garland ( what i'm showing you in this post) and the other are some cute canvases you could make! They do take time and patience so don't think you can knock out these projects in less then a hour. :)

They are super easy and fun! So grab a friend or two and try these DIY's!

          Materials:
  • Tissue Paper ( for gifts )
  • Cord or some sort of ribbon
  • A pen
  • Scissors
  • Ruler

          Directions:
  1. First lay out your piece of tissue paper on the ground. Make sure that you don't have any major creases in the paper.

    2. Then fold your paper hot dog style. ( Long side to other side )

3.Then fold it hamburger style. ( Short side to other short side )

 4. Then flatten the paper with a ruler to even it out.

 5. From the top of the thickest end of the paper, measure 2 inches from the top and draw a little mark.
6. Then from the less thick part of the folded paper, start cutting small stops up to the 2 inch mark that you made before.

In the end it should look like this :

7. Then on one of the top sides you can open, open it up.

 Should look like this:

 8. Then fold this side open.

Like this:

9. Find the middle part and cut through the middle.

In the end you should have two pieces that look similar.

 10. Then take the long side of one of the two pieces and start to roll it up.

 11. Then loop it.
And Voila! You have a tassel!

Then repeat this step until you have your desired amount of tassels. and then just put them onto the cord! And if you want your tassels to stay for a long time on the cord, add some tape the tassel so it connects to the cord.

Hope you guys liked this DIY!
